CR's Take
I've looked quickly, but I haven't been able to find the actual patent anywhere. Can anyone else?

Thanks Justin

  1. There is absolutely nothing that would excite me regarding this lens. Zip! If it’s the aspect of 2.0 buy a prime. If it’s the aspect of Extra-wide to 55 there’s noting to gain except distortion. L’s or nothing.

  2. Huh? 17mm on 1.6x FOVCF is a mere ~27mm on FF35, it’s not really UWA. It’s the aspect of a zoom lens that lets in twice the amount of light than all other “pro-quality” zooms combined with IS that makes this a compelling lens for crop cams. It’s EF-S for the simple reason that it’s more practical to make it that way.

  3. Cause Canon doesn’t want to sound like Nikon… For example: Nikon AF-S 70-200 F2.8 G IF-AD
What kind BS description for a lens is that?

    HEHEHE
