Sorry to bring up the subject, I have not figured out to the end, the supply of cameras has already started? Because I haven't been home for a long time and haven't been following my favorite site. I was on a trip, where I took many beautiful pictures, what I did not shoot, and nature and animals and cities. In general, I have a gallery full of two cards full of photos. I here I think maybe I should upload everything to YouTube and edit the video? How do you think? Only I need a quality converter. A friend advised using loader.to. I have not used it yet. Can anyone have other options?

The R5 only does 4K at 60fps, but you raise a good point, maybe there is a crop factor issue with the higher fps R3. I’ll investigate

He had bought it for that one thing. Do not remember discussing if he ever used it for anything else. Yes, you get incredibly clear light - but the very rapid temperature shifts makes for other problems. Never found it easy to get great shots up there myself. The most striking pictures I have are of the deep blue color of the inland ice when the sun is out.

Canon have said it should be the ribbon or at worst the diaphragm. Great to hear ‘send it in sooner’ I definitely will now, and post the result. I would like to part trade-in for the RF version, so it needs to be done. Fingers crossed.

Yep, Lensrentals and Lensprotogo ....they're actually owned by the same company, but they often have different sales/.coupons going so it pays to shop between them.

Sometimes one has items the other does not...and one factors in shipping in the price while the other does not, so, it pays to compare the total pricing between them with whatever coupon(s) are out.

The EVF makes it easier to hide chimping, just press the playback button with your thumb, look at the picture in the EVF and pretend to be taking pictures

I don't know if there is a higher quality version, but you are right that it looks like garbage, and also that it is from compression. Whether or not it is youtube's compression or something Canon did is hard to say. I definitely occurred to me when watching that it was weird of Canon to use such a poor quality video for a lens advertisement.

Indeed, if I was to make a move into manufacturing in the photography world I think cameras and lenses and the like are for dummies, bags are where the big bucks are!

My favourite portrait lenses in the EF mount are the EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM II and the EF 85mm F1.4L IS USM. The quality of the images from the 85mm F1.4L on my Canon 5DS are amazing so without question I would buy a RF version with my R6 and EOS R I’m not interested in the 1.2 both size and cost are too much for me.

If they claimed that it would have been relatively recently, since only the R3 is capable of 30 fps. But for the 20 fps on the R5, the majority of EF lenses are as capable as RF lenses at being able to achieve 20 fps (the big caveat is that 20 fps is situation-dependent, so the way Canon phrases is it 'continuous shooting speed of max. approx. 20 fps less likely to decrease' for a list of lenses that includes EF and RF lenses (link). Canon has not shared a similar list for 30 fps on the R3.

This is what I consider too much for the intended audience. I can understand why they saw this as a marked improvement, however, I don't see it as terribly good. Let's just say a global shutter has a real value in this type of shooting.

Looks like an improved Stitz or a Loreo stereo module, only direct mount instead of mounting on the front of a lens.

I'll have to dig mine out and try it.

Because that’s where they are putting all their energy with glass. I can adapt ef to ef by not the other way. So if I buy ef body then i am locked into tonsuring lenses that will not be updating so any improvements will completely be lost. When they bring out an improved set of cone lenses that will be RF so what’s the point in buying an ef body. Cine bodies can be work horses for years and years so as canon is going through a change it will be very wise to buy the new mount.

…or shooting at high magnification. For example, shooting with the MP-E 65 at a diffraction-friendly f/11, the effective aperture at 5x is f/66. That’s why I use the twin-flash.

My impression is

1. UHS II cards will take a performance hit in SDXC 7.0 slots, so some customers would upgrade cards. Unless SD 7.0 comes in at a much lower price, customers wouldn't prefer SD to CFExpress. On the contrary, owners of such cameras as the R5 would rather buy more of the CFExpress cards they already have.

2. Given a device can dissipate the heat (with similar size, I don't see a reason why just one of the two would create a problem), CFExpress type A vs type B is a matter of designing different plastics.

3. There already are CFExpress slots and card readers on the market and manufacturers are already working out the problems. Another standard is another headache, which I don't see how they would justify.

4. Micro SD is loosing market with some smartphone manufacturers dropping it, and nobody making A2 compatible slots*. At some point laptop manufacturers will probably follow suit and drop the slot as well.

* I know there are A2 micro SD cards on the market, I haven't heard of any gadgets with slots that benefit from it.

Also the slow feedback didn’t make learning easy. So when I tried again a few years ago the superb advice from many really got me hooked. When forums work well they are a wonderful resource.

As for your gallery, I have really enjoyed looking through, particularly your bird shots. The mono heron is superb.
