I took my lens to a wildlife preserve neat my house and starting playing around with burst mode. I managed to get a nice sequence of a turkey vulture. This helps convince me that the used lens is solid and works well with the R6 Mk2.

Well there is one entry point FF at any given time. Who are we to decide what price is considered to be "budget"?

I have a 6D now and I was just trying out the new R6 Mark III and the R5 Mark II at the Hunt’s show. I’m disappointed how small the Mirrorless bodies are. Sure I could use a battery grip but I don’t like using the grip all the time on my 6D such as when I doing street photography. Why are the bodies smaller but the RF lenses are about the same size as EF glass?

Canon you are shameful how can you put the 4k oversampling at 60fps in the r6 mk3 that has no high temperature setting and no air intake and not put it in the r5 mk2 which costs much more?!? But wake up and do this damn firmware update and give the 4k overcamoyed at 60fps on the r5 mk2 !!! You're ridiculous!!!

I'd love to see the 1988 Canon EF 200mm f/1.8L USM attached to a RF bodies like the R6 Mark III, R1 & R5 Mark II.

What more on a FujiFilm medium format body like a GFX 100S II & GFX 100 II.

Considering how small and compact the R8 is, I would say that it is the most versatile compact camera. It's full size 35mm sensor and amazing image quality...I'd give the R8 my vote.

I thought I'd wade back in after sending my R5ii into Canon for a second time. Again, they replaced the printed circuit board, and checked the sensor, firmware, etc. It arrived just before heading back to Churchill for another season of photographing polar bears. For the most part, the new mother board seemed to work well. The camera didn't crap out (totally), and the battery level didn't drop super fast. On the other hand, it wasn't as cold as last year so I may yet see a return to previous challenges. What did happen on a regular basis is the dreaded dead battery alert - however popping it out and back in while the switch was in the on position, got the camera up and running again. I often shot between 350 and 480 frames as well as a fair bit of video each day and almost never changed battery.

A colleage believes the huge venting on the mark ii has something to do with it so he tapes his up in the winter and that seemed to help in his case.

I've spent a ton of money to avoid the problem and I hate throwing more money but I can't risk a camera dying on my photo tours. I've bought a dummy battry to run off a Dtap if necessary as well as a second R5 mark i body (since I know that seems to work in all temps). In January, I head back up when it drops to as low as -50C/-58F. My old 5Ds laughed at those temps, and my colleague has been using his R5 in those temps for several years. Fingers crossed the mark ii still works. I'd like to use my R5 for time lapses and my mark ii for photos.

I use Flashpoint/Godox regularly, but I don't use the newer cameras regularly.

I use a Garmin GPS device to create a tracklog and use the Map module in Lightroom to add the coordinates from the tracklog to the images. This works fine when the time on your camera is in sync with the time of the GPS device. I use the Camera connect app to sync the time of my camera to that of my smartphone (after some time the camera clock needs re-sync to remove the usually 2-3 minutes difference).

Do you mean “movie cropping”? That is described on page 219 of the advanced user guide, september 2020 edition for firmware 1.7.

The M6II is still my most used camera over my R8 full-frame because of its compactness. I will forever believe that Canon made a huge mistake with the way they handled the M series.

So maybe start correcting yourself before blaming others for (potentially) wrong notation.

Event and action are, more often than not, two body scenarios.

What it really means is there is the performance that can be wrung out of a lens if you really, really know your lens. Know where in the image it works best and where it works worst and plan your photographs accordingly. Only the n53 5G band overlands with the 2.4GHz band Canon uses, and only one company operates on that, in a very limited capacity. I'd be more worried about microwaves, consumer wifi access points and poorly shielded monitors.

My new equipment when travelling/hiking: R5 II + 15-35 ,second R5 II + RF 70-200f/4. Each camera on a Capture Peak clip mounted on the left and right backpack straps.This covers more than 95% of all situations.
In the bag, easily accessible: 100-500, 60 Leica R macro (sometimes) and, for cities, 24 TSE.

How much of the overheating issue in the R1 could be due to the card itself? It seems that some CFExpress Type B cards run hotter or cooler than others? I had the same issue with overheating with relatively minimal use indoors, with still shots.
