Canon buying ARRI is a great idea.

Zeiss and Leica don't have the funds to acquire ARRI.
Of course, Canon could buy Zeiss and Leica as well...

I'm glad discussions are back! I guess I'm not a super-zoom person either. I used to pair ef-m 11-22 with ef-m 55-200! I know it doesn't count as a superzoom. My first 55-200 started giving errors after a Miami trip and lots of sandy days before that. Nowadays, I'm commited to a super-tele instead (180-600) while having my old 11-22 on my m6ii. I avoid swapping lenses at the beach!

It doesn't seem to me that IBIS helps on the R7; it's more difficult to get a sharp shot at 300 mm wide open than with the R5 and RF 100-400 at 400 mm wide open (this combination works fantastically well in my experience). Disappointing.

Last month, Insta360 announced that it was starting a new brand called Antigravity, which is its new drone lineup. Now we have some actual details on what the first drone coming to market will have, and it’s pretty impressive. Besides the drone, Antigravity is also releasing vision goggles and a grip controller to provide a far more immersive FPV (first-person view) drone experience.

Oh i miss HDR, i was so nice in that before, but i stopped photography and things improved over the years, so i don't know what is there now, i need to have new results so i can return back to HDR if it is improved now.

I’m somewhat in the same boat when it comes to giving Hasselblad a leading role over Canon—though not when it comes to heat pumps However, I’ve just jumped from the R6 Mark II to the R5 Mark II, realizing that even the Hasselblad X2D can’t fully replace Canon. It’s not just about focal range coverage, autofocus tracking, speed, or macro capabilities—it’s also about file size for every need. I already own the X1D II, and it still beats the R5 Mark II in image quality, though I do hope to upgrade to a used X2D one day.

Many thanks. I don't use the function a lot but sometime back I noticed that my iPhone was no longer receiving the location information. Tried figuring out why and failed. I may have even asked the question here (I don't actively participate much, more of a lurker) but couldn't find the answer. And this was so simple. Now if my 80+ year old brain will remember it is the question.

I discovered a ‘feature’ of the R5II AF just now: it will focus on the reflection in reflective sunglasses, not on the frame of the glasses. With f/2 and 50mm, that makes the face come out very blurred.
Very happy to have AF-ON set to spot-af, no tracking and use the upper lip as focus target

I do not think so. I have owned both the TS-E 17mm and TS-E 24mm (version 2) and have had the same as experience as @Del Paso: image quality fell apart (on my 5Ds R) when using more than a few millimeters of shift.

Thanks MMMM, I finally got my R1 from Panamoz in May. Great to deal with. I will be buying all my camera gear there in future.
Changing from a 1DXmk 3 to an R1 took some learning. I was lucky that a friend of mine had just got an R5 mk 2 so we did a lot of work over summer from shared hides and learned off each others mistakes. Theres a lot to learn and Im still tweeking occasionally.
I am blown away with pre-capture and the eye tracking AF.

Of course it's marketed by Tamron, not Canon, so the prices are fair in the UK. Silly me.

I'm not happy with Sonys way either but they did pretty well I think. They have some really good lenses, they have many of them and then of course the third party lenses.

The RX1R III is really tiny, so if you want the smallest full frame camera this is it.

what I found interesting is that bumblebees already seemed to mess around with flight dynamic theory from what I recall.. but weirder was seeing how damaged some of the wings could be and they still fly about.
