According to the leaked specification, they will work on the R body (and may even be a good choice for shooting 4K video - if it is 1.75x cropped, as currently assumed by the collective opinion on this forum).I was thinking about selling my EF-S lenses ahead of the release of the R. But if I understand it correctly the EF-S lenses will work on the R body? Thinking of keeping some of them instead if that's the case..
As #2 Nikon can afford to be bold with their new products. Look at the Z7, it competes with the D850. They are not afraid to have the Z7 steal business from the D850. Plus the Z7 will steal business from Canon.
Canon on the other hand protects their products from each. They provide clear points of difference between each body. I wonder what they will do with the new ML? Will it compete (and exceed) the 5D M4 or 5DSR? Or will they cripple the camera is some critical way.
I think has made some great products but currently they are too conservative. They seem afraid that a new product will eat an existing products lunch. Well if theIr ML products are too cripple to product the 5D M4, 5DSR or 1Dx M2, they will fail. And to some extend Nikon will steal business from Canon.
So what is this. A plea to Canon, do your best. If the Z7 can shot 45.7MP at 9 FPS, then the next generation of 1DX or D6 should be able to shoot 30 MP at 12 FPS. Go for it.
as soon as i get the drone i'll show some dng... no one of the reviews compared this sensors mavic vs mavic 2 zoomInteresting thanks for the reply.
I've always wanted a drone so this Mavic is of interest to me.
My point was to simply avoid the scenario where a couple only keeps a full set of wedding pixs on one of their phones, lose that phone and come crying back to original photog asking for new files. How long will you insure you keep their files for them and how much will a second copy of everything cost? Or do you only provide the initial copy, encourage they backup and make no promise of future availability or warranty as to the original media's longevity? That's what I was suggesting go in the T&C's. In the film era I had one fellow shooter have a couple come back 10 years later and want a whole new set of prints (house fire I think). Just something to think about and plan for.
Theoretically thats true practically I beg to differSince the pixel pitch is nearly identical, if one crops the 5Ds to the same size as the 7D Mark II, the results will be near identical as well. A FF sensor has no inherent advantages over an APS-C sensor if the images from both are enlarged by the same factor. The advantage of a FF vs. an APS-C sensor is all based on the lower enlargement ratio needed to get to the same display size.
Recently, there was an episode on DPReview TV titled: "understanding 4K and 6K Photo modes on your camera" discussing your question. I found it informative.
That's problem with non-unique names for things:All EF-M lenses to date, from 11mm to 200mm, have had the exact same diameter.
Overall, I still am very happy with my EF 70-200L f2.8 II, one of my fav zoom lenses. I think the new Mk III is more attractive for those still using the Mk I lens or buying into this class for the first time. In optical quality, the leap between the quite old Mk I and the Mk II was huge, the latter is much sharper, overall seen. Plus, AF etc. was much then improved by Canon, so it was really worth upgrading. But according to Bryan Carnathan, still one of my fav sources for reviews of new Canon gear, they didn't change the optical design, only used some more advanced lens coatings (https://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-70-200mm-f-2.8L-IS-III-USM-Lens.aspx). So I expect no or only incremental visible improvements for Mk II users when it gets to real life photography...unless you upgrade from mark II.
Not according to Tamron's page on list of compatible lenses for Tap console. The previous version was compatible with TAP in dock already. also the front element had smudge proof coating.
I believe the update is just to unify the new Tamron SP line look
