Yesterday’s Nikon was the first I’ve seen for several years now. My experience is that the very long zoom compacts are niche products with birders, and I see more birders than most.Compact camera does struggle as a category here for sure. I honestly thought these nonsense superzooms were crazy and probably never sold well, but I guess they did.
Thanks for the confirmation - I suspected as muchNot if you want to be able to focus to infinity.
The flange focal distance of RF mount is 20mm. The flange focal distance of Z mount is 16mm. Without using something exotic like an adapter with internal elements the adapter would have to be -4mm thick.
indeed. i still don't really understand that in terms of a optical patent application.Sorry, I also forgot Canon using more obtuse and opaque terminology, like “paraxial image height” in patent applications.
Nothing wrong with pointing out a good camera when you use one. Don’t worry about all the naysayers. They’re never gonna buy one nor ever going to have the equivalent skills to know if it’s right for them if they did. Fantastic work, lovely write up.Nope, I'm not - paid hard-earned for all my Canon cameras over the last 25+ years.
That we did, everything went great, apart from my dietVery nice photos, we can see that you had a great vacation!
Yes and no. It's suprising how many new EF lenses are still being sold across the world. It's still a significant market for Canon. Many have not migrated to RF cameras and many that have are happy with their EF glass,The RF is a bit smaller and lighter (10mm and ~100g) but yeah. They'll just discontinue the old one when the introduce the new one, but I guess they might want to wait till stock of the EF has been depleted first.
True...but the LP-EL extends beyond the side of the charger, whereas the LP-E6 does not.The LP-EL does charge in LP-E6 chargers, which adds to the confusion.
Nope, I decided to pass. Hope you’re enjoying yours!Hey, more than a year later but did you ever get a tse 135? I did recently, december I think, and it was incredibly difficult to find a new one. I ended up finding a source on amazon and while I was skeptical, it turned out to be legit. I now have all the last canon tse lenses as well as the fuji 30TS and laowa. 15 and 20 Shifts.
well, the ZV-E10 has interchangeable lenses and is in a totally different price bracket too.I wonder if the body form factor puts some people off as it doesn't look like a "traditional" camera. It is rare that it is compared to the Sony ZV-E10 for instance. Maybe the V1 will change that. Hopefully better than the Nikon 1 V1.
Not quite. You can get full frame cameras that are the same size as apsc's these days.
might be less that its a problem and far more to do with a complete lack of lenses that would work with the larger sensor, its a huge aspect that holds back medium format cameras and lens availability is the main reason ARRI made the Super 35 instead of a new full frame or LF camera.I’m wondering why it’s still a problem to make something like 48x36mm sensor at least? Or even 56x56.
