The Canon EOS R1 & Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z begin shipping this week

Camera is absolutely fantastic. Shot sports all weekend. About 15k pictures.
Little learning curve at the beginning, but the results are just perfection.
Autofocus is super sticky. Multiple people can cross your field and the camera is still just glued on the player with the ball.
40fps with pre-capture is probably overkill. It’s a ton of images. But I think by the end of the weekend I got it figured out about how long I need to click to get the shots I wanted.

Dustin Abbot's RF 35mm f/1.4 review

He doesn’t say if the distortion correction is done before or after stacking, I’d say that doing it after stacking wouldn’t lead to banding.
I do like his shots of the telescopes, back when I visited, devices with radio emissions needed to be turned off, so I used a Yashica TLR with 120 film:

Patent Application: Automatic Tilt Shift Enhancements

On the other hand, if you want to buy such an "automated" TS lens, perhaps for the sake of novelty and GAS satisfaction, have at it; I'm sure you can have some fun with it. But for serious professionals, automation of TS functions will be expensive, superfluous and unnecessary. YMMV.
Thanks for being a gatekeeper, we really need helpful people like you to tell us what serious professionals need and what amateurs with money can waste it on. Well done!

What’s going on with Canon Speedlites?

What if I want light to dictate MY end result?
What if I don't want to dictate?
What if I don't want to use a tripod?
What if I don't want to use any existing focal length or available aperture?
Isn't it my choice, after all?
Isn't photography "writing with light" and not generating it?
You seem to delve in photographic theories, I'm ok with this. But you seem to forget that some of the very best photographers simply rejected them (I'm not speaking of myself, obviously).
"La meilleure des regles est de ne pas en avoir".
PS: Which Rollei rangefinder cameras are you speaking of? Never heard of any, unless you mean Rollei merely as brandname put on some obscure Cosinas).
Indeed, sir. You are absolutely correct. Any person can pick up a camera and just use it in any way and if they are personally satisfied with the results for them, then voîla!, they then have a result that is good for them personally and who's to argue that they aren't satisfied with it? After all, that's what the "A" is for on the camera settings. Absolutely agree.

I don't know which "very best photographers" use/d cameras this way - I know for sure some one like Ansel Adams isn't one as I've read many of his books over the years and he never mentions this as it's rather the antithesis of his work and teachings- but since I don't know every best photographer, or what constitutes this particular definition of "best photographers," I'm happy to agree with you that there must be some kind of "best photographers" (broadening the term "photographer" here rather widely) out there who do reject all basic photography theory, concepts, techniques and rules in their work. Of course, that would mean, like any artistic master in the last 2,000+ years in any field in the East or West, they are in fact masters of ALL the theory, concepts, techniques and rules and as masters, they then know which ones to counter, break with or leave out and when and why and how to do so. And since I'm in full agreement with you here then, there's not much more to say on this subject, mom ami. Au revoir.

iPhone 7 plus portrait mode: ingenious or rubbish

Portrait mode not working? Bummer! Let's try a few things. First, make sure you're using the rear camera, not the front-facing one. Portrait mode usually works best with the main camera.
Next, check the lighting. Portrait mode relies on good lighting to create that blurred background effect. Try moving to a brighter area or using a light source to illuminate your subject.
Also, make sure you're far enough away from your subject. The ideal distance is usually a few feet.
If none of these tips work, try restarting your phone. Sometimes, a simple reboot can fix weird glitches. You might also want to check for software updates. Sometimes, updates can improve camera performance.

More best instruction below.

He ain’t lying – THE BEST PRIME LENS. Period. by Peter McKinnon

I shot color slide film in a rangefinder camera with a fixed 45mm lens for years. I could visualize the composition without putting the camera up to my eye. I had to get everything right in the first place. It was a great way to learn. I made many of my best pictures that way. And 45mm is even closer to theoretical “normal” than 50mm.
For a couple years in Zurich my backpack always had a Contax G2 with 28/2.8, 45/2, and 90/2.8. I did really like the 45. 50 does feel a bit tight or tele. 45 maybe a tiny tiny bit too, maybe 40-42 is "normal" for me? I think SLR's settled on 50mm as it left a lot of room for the flipping mirror, while for rangefinders you could do anything from 35-50 about as easily so it was more a question of what the designers wanted and less of what would fit.

Parents: What are/were your most used lenses for your small kids?

My 24-105mm f4 was probably my most prolific lens with my son growing up. Followed by my 70-200 f2.8. I tried to keep the camera ready for action with 1/500 or faster shutter speeds and FPS as fast as possible. I almost always kept the camera on Auto ISO so I could adapt quickly indoors or out. Kids are sports...

Adapting Fuji X Mount to RF mount

Short answer - no. Not possible

Fuji x-mount has a flange distance of 17.7 mm. The lens need to sit there from the sensor focal plane

Canon RF is 20 mm. EF is 44 mm. There is no way an x mount lens can sit at those distances and still focus across its range

Besides, x mount is also crop format, so it won't fill the whole imaging circle.

Given those constraints, it's counterproductive to even attempt doing this

Long answer: no, doesn't even make sense
