There is no 70D, so no one here knows what features it might eventually have. It seems likely to appear in the next month or two, and might have new features introduced by the t4I plus a few more, but that is merely guessing. I'd wait and see if you are not in a hurry.

Thanks! I would like to get one as soon as possible, but if I have to wait for the 70D I'm able to if it's worth it. So you think the 70D will be announced in the next month or too? Hopefully it's not later than normal like the 650D was...

i take it lightroom doesnt look to great on the retina display?i dont think adobe will be quick updating it either

I'm using 5D MK III and taking around 10,000 shots. Every AWB was too WARM So I always shift to B3, M3 (or set to Kelvin)
My friend has an issue too. No fix YET all you can do is shift your B/M (Blue/Magenta)

That's really bad AWB compare to 60D, 7D, 5D MK II

As always, your results may vary so evaluate from a reputable dealer. I now use a 300 2.8L so it's all a moot point to me. Just my experience with two copies of the lens.

I can tell you from personal experience that while my 70-200 II + 2x II does quite well, my 100-400 is slightly better at 400/5.6. The AF on the 100-400 can hunt more with a complex subject (bird in a thicket), but with a simpler subject (BIF) the 100-400 focuses faster.

Current Setup:
T3i - Tokina 11-16mm / Canon 50mm F1.8
Zoom H4n - Rode Videomic

Sell the Tokina. You need a 16-35mm f2.8 for full frame.
Some folk rate the Tokina as usable at 16mm on FF. It was never designed for this.

I have the Tokina and love it on my APS-C cameras. It's not a lens for full frame.

I would rather a 5D2 and 16-35 than a 5D3 and 11-16.

Also. There is nothing actually wrong with the T3i for video.

FF is harder to focus, often requires different lenses (see above for Tokina example)

APS-C Canons exhibit less rolling shutter (marginally to be fair) and the moire can be dealt with if you follow my top secret grading recipe.

On APS-C you are still getting more DoF control than on super35 based sensors etc. Think really really hard about this. I am being entierely sincere.

For the cash you'll drop on a 5D3 and FF lenses you could buy some really nice flouro lighting, a really brilliant tripod or rig and some decent sound gear (not the Rode VMC)

The difference between a 5D2 or 3 with the right lenses and an APS-C camera with the right lenses ALL USED PROPERLY is about 5-10% in my opinion.

The difference between no lighting and lighting is about 80%, the difference between crap sound and good sound is aboiut 99.9%

Buy a good camera. But you have one already. Look at all the other elements. A 5D3 will make your material 10% better on a very very good day. The money could be spent vastly more effectively elsewhere.

Not sure if others have posted this but I see Canon added the Wired LAN Instruction Manual for the EOS 1D X today.

Ok updated the firmware and it looks better IMO what do you think:

5D II before firmware and 5D II After Update.

Looks a better exposure to me and taken a couple of shots around the house and I think its made a difference.

Please check with your airline for carry on weight limit. Almost all European airline has a 8Kg weight limit officially. I have never been weighted in Europe. But I know people that has been weighted. Singapore Airline has a weight limit of 8 Kg across the board also. I actually have to repack my carry on right in front of the San Francisco ( I was flying to Singapore) check in counter because of that. If you are travelling within Asia, United also has a 8Kg weight limit. the above are for couch fare. business class is another story.

Yes. It will fire the rest in HSS but optical slave's dont work very well in bright outdoors or large distances.

1.1.3 has been out for some time now.
However, it's only camera firmware.
There's another lens firmware that is still in 1.1.0..not sure why…

Also, the notes for 1.1.3 says:
1. Supports the single focal length EF40mm f/2.8 STM lens that is to be released at the end of June, 2012.

I don't even know what that means because even at 1.1.2, it does identify the lens correctly.
With 1.1.3, the description is still the same and there is still NO lens correction for that lens in 1.1.3…i presume that is in Lens firmware (which i've never seen before)

So in the end, i have no idea what 1.1.3 improves...

I actually never look at the histogram.

CA is my #1 thing to avoid because I find that it's not always very easy to take out in ACR. I've tried automatic, manual settings and there's a lot of fiddling around.

That being said, I chose the Canon 10-22 for my widest lens and have not had any problems with it.

My worst lenses were the 17-85 IS USM which i got rid of for the 15-85 IS USM (despite reports in the reviews, I haven't had CA). My Tamron 70-300 VC is very sharp for the price, but don't shoot bare tree branches against a bright sky.....

I received my 40mm pancake today, and found it to be close focusing and very good for closeups of flowers. Its cheap too. i just snapped a few shots right out of the box, I will AFMA it and take some more in a few days.

It's Canon's runner-up camera to the 1D X. After using two of them for about 3 months now, it can go where the 1Ds III can't go but not quite where the 1D X can go. #2 camera right now for sure. I think most of the negatives are scare from reading websites vs. the price. I too was a little worried after I bought mine. But after using, all of that worry was very quickly dispelled. If you have the money to buy one and don't want to buy a 1D X, just get one.
