Does powershot sometimes skipp a photonumber?

I'm trying to find out if someone has experienced that this camera sometimes skips a number. The name is normally: IMG_ followed by a number of four digits, followed with a dot and the extention JPG. The number of the following photo is +1. I want to know if it s it possible that the software, or hardware names the following photo +2.
it is possible if some photos were deleted in camera.

Canon 80D batteries keep cutting in and out

If you want to be certain if that the grip causes a problem, you should obviously use the camera without grip for a period and with batteries you know have caused the issue in the past.

Or if you need the grip for the ability to shoot vertical easily, maybe there is a friend or place where you can borrow / rent a different grip to perform the Experiment. Although if the problem occurs rarely, that could end up being fairly expensive.

Canon EOS R5 launch price will be below $4000 USD [CR3]

++++With mechanical shutter, the maximum frame rate of the α9 is 5 fps, not 10.

Yeah right ok. How do you eliminate Rolling shutter effect while shooting action with electronic shutter though? A genuine question. shooting fast action at 5 FPS does not sound adequate?

Sony claims their electronic shutter doesn't suffer from the same effect that plagues everyone else's electronic shutter. Independent reviewers are mixed as to just how true that claim is. There's no doubt the Sony sensor reads out faster than other, older sensors used in other cameras. There are varying opinions as to whether the reduced rolling shutter effect still demonstrated is acceptable or not for certain use cses, such as sports and action.

Irix has announced the affordable 8K ready CINE 15mm T2.6

Think of it guys, if you buy these you will have “unlimited possibilities”. That’s a lot of possibilities more than with any other lens manufacturer, most of which offer “nearly unlimited possibilities”.
Did they just say unlimited? Their legal team must be having a senior moment. Oh well. ;)

The Supposed R5 June Announcement Date

Been looking through websites for a supposed date, though everyone knows it's just all speculation at this point, unless anyone has heard anything about when the announcement would take place. It's 100% going to be/is pre-recorded, so they could stream it live tomorrow with a last minute announcement of a date tonight if they wanted, if they haven't announced an actual date yet.

I just want to place a pre-order :p
Me too!

How are you coping?

I did purchase a RF 35mm refurb when they were on sale, its a good lens on my R. My 5D MK IV is not getting any use, its been sitting for most of 6 months, and the events I usually photograph are shut down. I'm seriously thinking of selling it. Its in great shape and has a fairly low number of shutter actuations. I think the reason my R gets a lot of casual use is its size, a R5 is going to be larger, so I wonder if that would affect my usage. There seem to be a lot of features on it that might make photography easier, I hope it has focus stacking.

Canon EOS R6 announcement moved to July [CR2]

You were initially correct—mostly—there is a DIGIC 8 as well. However, it only supports DSLR functions—metering, PDAF. My guess is they didn't bother porting those functions to DIGIC X because they won't be needed much going forward ;)

From the white paper: https://www.canonrumors.com/files/Canon_EOS_1DX_Mark_III_Still_White_Paper.pdf
I completely missed that. But then again, I wasn't reading all the White Paper info. This explains a little more about the overall speed/responsiveness as well as the "unlimited" buffer.

Will the r6 be such an upgrade over the EOS R? [Photography purposes]

I think it will be a better allrounder due to better AF and FPS but it wont be better in the IQ stakes simply due to not having the resolution the R has. It 'may' have better noise performance due to being a newer generation sensor but if you don't need the speed the trade off in MP might not be worth it.

Samyang introduces the MF 14mm F2.8 MK2 and MF 85mm f/1.4 MK2

I used two copies of the Canon 14mm MkII and was extremely disappointed in both, I actually got better results from the old 15mm fisheye and defishing it with a little utility called Fisheye-Hemi.

Nowadays I use the 11-24 which blows the 14mm prime out of the water when compared at 14mm.

I'm a bit surprised.
My EF 14 II is sharp, contrasty, even in the corners. I really love it ! As to the 11-24, I have no opinion, since i've never used it. But its weight is certainly a drawback for longer hikes...

Wireless file transmitter for the Canon EOS R5 appears for certification

Having said that, personally I would like to avoid adapters for the hassle of keeping them, searching for them, having to use and remove them etc. Some new expensive lenses have also the IS advantage (24-70 and 15-35) and that's why I got them.
Your last sentence gives exactly the same reasons for not using an adapter that herein2020 has stated and which I am defending in my post. Nobody said the RF 35 f/1.8 would be better than the EF 35 f/1.4L II. Nobody said that recent EF lenses with adapter would optically not be just as good as their RF counterparts. This whole adapter-discussion revolves around the fact that somebody (herein2020) stated that he/she doesn't use adapters. For exactly those reasons you are also giving in your post (losing them, searching for them, additional handling, etc.). One of the reasons was that in the RF ecosystem there are some new lenses that are optically superior to older EF lenses. Nobody said that this has anything to do with the adapter itself, but in RF without adapter world there are some unique and shiny lenses that are better than their comparable EF counterparts. Partly simply because they are newer, partly because they (possibly) make use of the faster communication protocols, etc.

Kickstarter: Aurora Aperture next gen rear mount filter system now live

that’s why we have engineers. They do things like calculate and test the G forces it would take to dislodge a magnetic filter and compare that to the G forces a camera might survive.
Pretty easy stuff.
And you sure they did at Aurora Aperture?
Including an accidentally dropping of the gear?
Hmm... then this company is much better than the guys that did their website :ROFLMAO:
But who cares about good software engineers when we have good mechanical engineers:rolleyes:
