If the electronic interface is the same (a universal adapter wouldn't work otherwise), making a new camera-specific grip is just a matter of reshaping the plastic, a quick & cheap job.

I use a Directaction large messenger and sometimes add more pockets to the pals/molle ladders on the outside as needed for extra bits, speedlights and lenses. It is compact enough and the little built in pockets fit my filters and batteries etc but I especially like the internal velcro real estate that can be used to set up dividers or stick wallets and small admin pounches and panels or pockets that have hook/loop backs to the inside of the bag to keep them accessible without them being loose. There are other brands with similar designs and features in bigger/smaller sizes to it. Plus the padded small folder pocket fits my tablet I use with dslr controller thus the layout of that brand works best for me but other bags with similar style but diggerent base config may suit you better.

I use release priority if that’s what you mean, getting 5 instead of 3 fps. More chance of oof images, but frankly it doesn’t miss for anything but the fastest action.

Guess the only way to find out is try out the R5 for the things the R misses on.

Thank you *so* much for everything you have done, ... but for me what has mattered most is your lens teardowns - and in particular for the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8. I had been leaning to get into mirrorless FF with Canon because of the great lenses they make and their better ergonomics than other brands. You showed just how well made Canon can make something, and now it is the only company I am waiting for to jump into FF mirrorless with as soon as they come out with a great body (and the R5 looks like it is the one for me).

My 1.4x and 2x are different lengths. The adapter length doesn't have to be clear space - otherwise it would be a mechanical version of an adapter + EF-EF TC welded together. An RF-EF TCs could have the optics using the same space as what an adapter spacer would take up. Makes perfect sense for using EF big whites.
I agree with the timing issue. I would be surprised if an RF-RF 1.4x TC could not be used on the 100-500mm lens but 2x is a different story. Releasing a 400mm DO makes perfect sense with RF-RF TCs.

At the time of announcement, I could have the the R for around $2300 AUD and the 35mm for $399 so pretty good.

Ours are still trickling in! We only have a few in our actual hands but the rest will come in by April/May two or three at a time!

We've technically actually bought MORE cameras from Sony than Canon BUT those were broadcast television/cinema-oriented gear!

Sometimes it's NICE to have some sales clout! Our lenses TEND to be Sigma, Arri/Zeiss (Master Primes and FF series, etc), Leica (Summilux-C) and Schneider-Kreuznach (Xenar-3) and the "weirder" lenses such as tilt-shift or Super-telephoto primes (600mm L-series) from Canon. Anything else we can build in-house (i.e. 4000mm or 8000mm Prime Scopes for Space applications)

I use mine (28 IS) whenever I need a small lens with a real good IQ (streets, pubs, etc.).
It's also good for discreet photography on the EOS R, used with the back-screen tilted in horizontal position.
But otherwise, 16-35/f.4 !!!

Time will tell I guess and I suppose it all comes down to what focal length the apature climbs over f5.6. if it can maintain 5.6 up to 400 then no probs. it is basically the 100-400 with a bit extra as the cream on top. But if it does not maintain f5.6 at 400mm then it will be a let down in my honest opinion. Or...…….If it is a significant drop in size(or more importantly, weight) then it will be awesome. Grams are critical when I travel

With both models adjustable down to 7Ws and the higher-powered model recharging faster, I don't see any reason for a 250Ws model in between.

You had 2 sides to the musclecars back in the 60's & 70"s. You had the consumer cars that were obviously geared towards quick acceleration/straight line speed. Then you had these same cars that were properly set up for SCCA and Trans Am racing, on such racetracks such as Watkins Glen, Road America, and some other great race venues. This is where the AAR 'Cuda, Camaro's and Mustangs were proven to be more than just straight line cars. And, btw, if your bass was on the cheap side, he may have ordered his GTO with 4 drum brakes, which back then was pretty normal. Obviously, the braking would suffer. Front disc brakes was an extra cost option.

The MGB was an "okay" car, but that's about it. With a total of 95 hp, it wasn't much to get excited about. Anytime you lower the stance of a car, it's give you the impression that it goes faster than it actually does. That's one of the reason's the regular run of the mill Mazda Miata was such a big seller.

I would agree with you that European cars are much better put together with respect to fit and finish, and so are the Japanese cars. The American cars of the 60's and 70's were on a completely different plane when it came to "bang for the buck" for the everyday normal person. That's why they sell for the price they do now (Barrett-Jackson Auction).

I feel Canon may be slowly losing that edge in the color realm as well. I’m increasingly underwhelmed by the color rendition of the newer cameras (RP, 5D4 to lesser extent). My old 5D3 probably had the best OOC colors, followed by the 5DSR (which is similar, but sometimes trends green which I feel is a step back). Out of what I currently have, the 5DSR runs circles around all other bodies. The 5D4 has a very muted color output, the RP even more so. The 5DSR OTOH has very a rich output, with strong reds in particular - which I find pleasing for portraiture.

Don't get lost in a circle of confusion and be like the ships and planes lost in the exposure triangle.

The 7DIIs (along with many other Canon cameras) come with unique image prefix letters, no more IMG.1234 I can tell images from my 7DII easily from the ABCD1234 where my 1DsIII has WXYZ1234.
Benny’s suggestion might be the best for you, RBOA and RBOB.

I think you've got it exactly backwards.

Those attending the Olympics would increase their individual risk because they'll be coming into contact with many more people than they otherwise would. So would anyone attending a college football game in the U.S. or a professional soccer match in Europe.

It's very simple. Even if it has spread to ever continent but Antarctica, and many individual countries around the world, the strategy of each of those countries is, and will still be containment i.e. containing the virus to certain areas or regions of that country in the events of an outbreak, or to the limited amount of people infected. Bringing lots of people together, then putting them together with people from other countries at the Olympics, would be the surest way of undermining that strategy.

Only today it was reported that there were 2 cases of reverse infection, where 2 Chinese nationals returning from Iran had apparently been infected with COVID-19 in Iran.

Anyway, this is all moot. Many European countries are already starting to ban larger gatherings of people, cancel sporting events etc. So it is very unlikely they will be allowing their people from all over their country to attend a potentially huge cross-contamination event in another country.
