TTArtisan Launches The RF 35mm f/1.4 Tilt Lens for APS-C

This new TTArtisan RF 35mm f/1.4 tilt lens looks impressive for creative APS-C shooters. The tilt function opens up fun compositional possibilities, especially for miniature effects or enhanced depth of field control. It’s a solid tool for storytelling through visuals, similar to how writers shape narrative with help from the best essay service online. Tools don’t do the work alone, but they make a big difference when used with vision. Looking forward to seeing some sample shots soon.

Sony to Launch the Sony FX2, With New EVF Technology

That is the worst possible sensor to put in a video oriented body… The rolling shutter performance is horrible and it’s too high of resolution, hence the need for a crop in 4K60. That is a photo-centric sensor being crammed into a video focused body, and it makes no sense.
It is an odd choice for sure. I wonder if they tweaked it a bit to reduce rolling shutter (if that is even possible).

Sigma AF APO 500mm F/4.5

Hi all.

I recently obtained a "Sigma AF APO 500mm F/4.5" telephoto lens, its a Nikon F-mount so I have paired it with
the Nikon D70s body that I have used once or twice when covering landscapes.

I mainly shoot with Canon lens and camera bodies but couldn't pass up the opportunity when the lens was offered at $30 AU, on E-bay they retail second hand from $900-$1000AU

Hopefully I will get a chance to do some bird photography but will need to locate my monopod as they is definitely some weight with this lens.

I may have found a firmware bug for the R6 MkII

Some questions out of curiosity:

1. Do you load the settings from a file, or enter everything manually?
2. Did you try doing only some of your settings one-by-one to figure out which one it could be?
3. Did you try a different card, and/or no card (set allow lens release without card to yes to try this).
4. Does it happen with all lenses you own, or are some fine? You say it occurs with 2 lenses so it's unlikely the lenses, maybe some don't have the issue.
5. Does it happen in airplane mode?
6. Are you using a fully charged and not super-old Canon battery?

The more you narrow it down yourself, the more likely it is Canon will be able to fix or actually try to reproduce it. It would be best to have a short and exact list of steps from a freshly factory reset camera that triggers it.

Believe me, having such a list of steps in writing makes a huge difference when it comes to resolving bug tickets. I know it's not your responsibility, but Canon CPS really seems rather lazy in your story.

To me it sounds like a bug where the camera is too slow and/or blocked by something and gets stuck temporarily. Like what used to happen when typing really fast in Word on a slow computer and you'd see the characters appear only after a few seconds.

DJI Mavic Pro 4: The Next Generation is Coming Soon

Just purchased the creator combo. I have a fun month long trip coming up and I think this will be great for it. 100MP photos might make for some good shots especially with the panorama modes but we'll see.
Would love to hear you report after your trip. I have seen some decent reviews and the still image quality has definitely improved a bit across all three focal lengths though not dramatically. Some of the other features are attractive as well like 40+ real world minutes of flight time and 55 mph speed to get to distant subjects.

Is Canon Going Ultra Fast with the RF 24mm f/0.7?

Musing about apertures faster than 1.0 is fun but did you notice what this patent is likely really about? What goes on between HM1 and HM2 called a QWP?? Never heard of it and never seen such a design. It bounces the light a couple of times shortening the physical length of the optical path. I'm sure this could be used in other designs as well
Upd: my Japanese is not what it used to be but it is indeed about a Quarter Wavelength Plate and reflections.

We all know the R5 M2 get hot but this is a bit absurd

I went to an awards ceremony yesterday to shoot a few pictures of graduating seniors in a temperature controlled indoor gym. It was about 70F inside and I was sitting with my R5M2 on and not shooting pictures for about 30 minutes, raise the camera up to take my first shot and already at 3 bars on the temperature gauge. This seems absurd to me that an idle camera would run so hot. I have the fan grip for it but do not use it all that often, guess I need to make it a permanent addition after seeing this.
That does seem odd. Might be worth a chat with Canon service rep?

Canon Patent Advanced AI Auto Framing Technology

I want that in my R5M2. Could it be possible? I wonder if it could be done or we are talking of completely new hardware like a more advanced accelerator chip :/

thenewcamera.com found it in the end of the last December:
Canon Patent Advanced AI Auto Framing Technology

Best seen is exactly here:

@Richard CN, I couldn't find any article on that patent. What is your take regarding this patent?
The new camera is not a reliable site.

@Richard CN is, alas, no longer part of the staff at CR. He has re-started CanonNews.

RF and EF extenders on the EF 600/4L IS II

I realize this an older thread but thought I would add this informtion.
I recently used a ProMaster 5154 model EF-RF adapter to make this modification. It has a wide opening and minimal filing was needed to allow the RF Extenders to fit. The pins also have springs behind them, they feel just like the Canon adapter in that regard. I use it with a RF 1.4x and 300/2.8. I Just receive a RF 2x to test out.

Canon Full-Frame PZ Lenses Could Be on the Horizon

I think a full-frame 20-60 F/4 if priced right would end up in my kit eventually as a smaller walkaround zoom on vacation and for video uses - a 20-50 F/4, which gives a little bit of ultra-wide and stays a little longer, would also be nice.

24-50 could be a candidate, but I do think 16-35 would just be a little bit too short on the long end for me to use as a general video lens. 16-35 would be great for small gimbal stuff, which I'd guess would be good for vlogging but I'd like to see something that could give more of a medium shot with a mild amount of zoom.
