Sigma RF 17-40/1.8 and 12/1.4 for APS-C soon!?

From SAR. Crazy rumor site, but among the noise sometimes reliable rumors. Which this sounds like it is.
Sounds like the Sigma APS-C lenses are coming to E/X/L/RF mounts, with announcement on June 17th.

The 17-40mm/f1.8 might not be wide (or long) enough to be the replacement for the EF-S 15-85mm that I'm waiting for. But f/1.8 :p Maybe I should have a second standard-zoom?!
And a 12mm/f1.4... Perfect for astro photography if I ever manage to get started on that?

Canon’s Latest Autofocus Patent Could Make Lenses Smaller, Smoother, and Quieter

Canon has been working hard to design more compact autofocus lenses that move quickly and quietly without sacrificing image quality. That’s no easy task, especially when you're trying to control large lens elements like those found in the RF 100–500mm f/4.5–7.1L IS USM.

How many Camera batteries?

Folks I've only in the last year bought a Canon R5. I have 2 official batteries (one that came with camera, other bought in addition). I don't see me upgrading to Mark 2 any time soon. So should I get more batteries so I can enjoy the camera for years to come? I don't tend to buy third-parties as they are generally poor for longevity. Or should 2

Another RF 200-800 breaks in half

After a trivial (by my standards) drop from about 2.5 feet (it landed flat on the ground), my RF 200-800 broke in half. I have dropped numerous Canon products over the years, and this was the first one that broke. The lens is 14 months old. Canon is charging me $959 USD (half the cost of a new one) to fix it. I was hoping that they would give me better support, given the design flaw of this lens. For those of you that are skeptical there is a design flaw: if you saw what little was holding the two halves of that lens together, you might change your mind. I have no complaints about the (prior) performance of the lens. I will never take this lens on another trip without having my 100-500 as a backup. If you are new to this issue, see:

RF-S 10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM

Post your images from RF-S10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM.
This ultra-wide angle lens proves a compact, portable package for a fair price. A FF equivalent of 16-29mm offered in such a small size makes it a perfect travel companion.
The aperture is not wide and you need some light. The optics is far from L quality. But I am positively surprised, what results you can get with it.
