Leaked Nikon Z9 II Specifications Surface Ahead of Fall Announcement

The timing would place Nikon’s next flagship squarely in competition with the upcoming Canon EOS R1 and Sony A1 II, both expected to push the boundaries of still and video performance in 2025.
Given that I have had an R1 in my possession since late 2024 and though the a1 II is in short supply some units were delivered earlier in the year, referring to those cameras as 'upcoming' is not really accurate, is it?

It is poor etiquette to quote Nikon Rumors without linking to their article.

There is more: “and with the Canon EOS R1 and Sony A1 II both rumored to hit the $6,299–$6,499 range”.

This is just a re-hash of an old rumor, apparently re-heated to get more clicks. Like most food: the quality does not improve when re-heated.

I too hope they'll recover from past mistakes.
I mean they already did, they've had some of the best bodies on the market for three years. Definitely a match for Sony and Canon. If I were looking to go FF or starting from scratch they'd be at or near the top of the list. Right now for most uses I'd say it's neck and neck between Canon and Nikon, Sony's the one that feels a bit dated at this point.

Z8II could be my jump ship to the Z mount…
They need to shrink it, it's actually larger and heavier than the GFX 100S, and in the same price bracket. The lenses make it even worse. If I'm committing to that much size/weight I'd rather the GFX.

Kinda mystified about the lack of rumors of a Z7 III, that seems like the real R5 competitor...

Looking forward to upgrading my Z9 to Z9 II in 2026. If they can shave off some weight so it is similar to my Canon R1 that would be phenomenal along with adding a few features (RAW precapture, 30-40 fps, better AF / tracking, higher res EVF).

Wrong wrong wrong!!!!!!
A real choucroute alsacienne (mine, based on my mom's recipe, without those stupid Haut-Rhin carrots) only gets better when you carefully reheat it!
Same for many French plats mijotes! (Slowly cooked).
OK, you wrote "most food". You are semi-pardoned.

You have taken your time to respond to my post (slow cooking?). It is a sad day for the French cuisine when you need German Sauerkraut to boast about the cuisine. I agree about the carrots though: those are only suitable for rabbits and hares.

What? Since when ist Sauerkraut exclusively German??? Since when is chili con carne Mexican??? Ask a Texan!
Don't you know that Alsace is part of France, and that sürgrütt is our national dish? Nothing to do, absolutely nothing wit German Sauerkraut cooked in broth. Just like some philistines put beans and tomatoes in a poor defenseless chili. A sacrilege!
We cook sürgrütt in riesling, a wine Alsace in famous for. Yes, I know, other countries also make very good riesling...
And we also put in it different meats, sausages and spices.
As if you compared US beer with Belgian biere d'abbaye...

Hey, I was only joking (not about the carrots ;) ).

If it wasn’t for the Brits eating carrots, Alsace would be part of Germany and who knows what would be the Netherlands so no more prejudice against carrots.
You are right! Thank you, RAF, Navy and Army!
But I can only hope Brits eat the "Nantaise amelioree"carrot! (While I grow and eat "Hurst Green Shaft" peas...)

It was also the heroism of the ordinary people - because of the blockade, we had to eat home grown vegetables of which potatoes and carrots were the most plentiful.
