Show your Bird Portraits

I have created an Adobe Lightroom keyword list arranged by family to reflect the 2025 eBird avian taxonomy. It is keyed on the American English common names but includes the IOC common names as synonyms where they differ. It also includes the scientific names as well as the alpha codes.

You can download the list from https://drive.google.com/file/d/15jSCG2eUGQRwQlS9auFSDbvJ01dWWdy1/view?usp=drive_link

I would like to make this available to the wider birding community but would appreciate any feedback you might have before doing so.

Once downloaded, the list can be imported into Lightroom from the Library module via the command sequence Metadata > Import Keywords.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.

P.S. Don't forget to update your copyright information in your cameras and image-processing software.
Well done!

The reason to stay home and taking opportunistic photos is the pretty unpredictable weather. The forecast for today was for 80% rain and eventually thunderstorms (up to now - 3:46 P.M. non of these). Same yesterday but at least there was some light rain. Day before it was only 40% chance for rain and I was prepared to go and went out. It started raining (light rain but still...)! So, today just a portrait from my lanai. Easy job and on top of that you are dry :)! All recent photos (insects and this one) are handhold with support from the terrain.

Today because of the forecast I went to botanical garden (in case of rain you have a shelter).
I always was thinking these parakeets are eating the entire seed pod. Today this smarty told me "No, dummy, we are doing it different way" and show me the process... Note that it did open the pod exactly where the bigger seeds start! The rest is just discarded.

Nice photos! Hmm, I just received a tax bill in the mail. Maybe that guy could open and shred it for me.😉
