Canon EOS R3 Mark II Coming the First Week of February?

EOS R3 II?
I wish for real 16 bit @ 20 FPS @ Full Mirrorless - like the R1 & R3 do.
60MP (same pixel density as Fuji GFX 100 II).
More advanced AI tracking of everything.
Same Body as R3.
AI Exposure (Exposure to the Left without cut Black, or Exposure to the center of Histogram - non Grey oriented as it is now).
Don't forget about the Pro funtions as Flash sync without 1st. courtain with ES.
Did i forget something?

Just dont see a need. If you beef up the R3 with higher megapixels and a faster readout then you are diluting the R1 and especially what the future R1ii could be. The readout and pixel count of the R5ii would also mean that an increased R3 would only take away from that line. Even the R6iii would be in the realms of competing with an R3ii.
Canon have made a bit of a mess of the lineup really. Build quality and performance is so good in the current generation of cameras that the differentiation between models is difficult to discern, for enthusiasts let alone those just starting photography.

I think that they will indeed release an R3m2, they can come up with distinct stuff and it seems like they want a big lineup. How they'll do it I don't know though and I hope that there will not be a push for even higher pixel count across the board.

I've just carefully re-read this article with the emphasis on "multi-media" and it's possible that Canon want the R3ii to be in the same price point that the current R3 is currently sitting in, ie snugly between a R1 and R5. If this is the case, then Canon might opt for a non stacked high density 45-50mp sensor and limit the ES fps to 20. Effectively making a big buffer 1 series R5 with a focus on everything but sports.
A cheaper R1, but with R5 mk1 image quality (maybe even superior) but with a huge buffer and top rugged build and pro battery.

I think that with the R6 III refocused on multi-media hybrid of moderate convenience it makes sense for the R3 II to also refocus on multi-media in a robust yet still moderately convenient manner.
R5 = general competent all-around stills / video camera
R1 = robust competent all-around stills / video camera

R6 = general hybrid stills / video camera
R3 = robust hybrid stills / video camera

Limited convenience, capable ability within body but one works harder for the same effects as top-tier
Cinema - when stills just don't matter
Whether that means the R3 should have more or fewer pixels than the R6 probably doesn't matter, so long as it can record equal or higher resolution video. In which case, more pixels would either be higher quality video (reduced from read for apparent sharpness) or marketing fluff (higher resolution video for ooh ahh).
But what I really want, not that it matters, is an R6 II or R3 with more pixels and no degradation in other stills oriented specs. If I want video of a serious nature I'll just go get a video rig... guess that makes me old.

Before an R3M2 I'd like to see an R7M2 that was actually an evolution of the 7D series. Metal body, etc... I don't think we will see either an R3 or metal R7.
But if we did get an R3M2 prediction:
1. FF 30MP Global Shutter.
2. 50 FPS with 2 seconds of precapture.
3. Noise performance of a EOS 10D. (Kidding mostly)

Maybe Canon thinks it doesn't have a camera body that can compete with the Sony A1 II, so they're removing the stops with the R3M2 and are producing a camera body that can or maybe it was already in the works and the timing is coincidental. I hope it offers more than the R1 and R5M2, but still within reason.

How, exactly did selling two new cameras to the same Customer instead of only one new camera hurt Nikon?

It did not, because they sold the more expensive camera first.
It was too late for Canon to do the same, since they already had to compete against the Z8 by the time they came out with the R5 II.
The R1 would have to have been much better than the R5 II.
People argue that the R1 is too close to the R3, so they still have a similar problem.

Greetings everyone, long time Canon user, going back to 5d Mark ii, 1DC, and recently the R3 and R5, mostly for video. The biggest drawback for the current R3 for me is lack of a compressed 6k format for documentary work. This is true of R1, R3, C80, and C400.RAW files are too large for the volume of filming I require. I realize the R5 line has uncompressed 8k, however I much prefer the far better screen, battery, weather sealing, etc. on the R3. Seems like something Canon could add more 6k and up codecs to a new camera, or in firmware, since the recent C50 has compressed 7k.

Not sure it's really a problem for Canon, though. Whether someone chooses to buy an R1 or an R3, it's not like Canon will take a loss from the sale.

They won't do that unfortunately, the R3 is waiting to be discontinued, but at least codecs seem to constantly evolve with newer models (one insentive to upgrade...) C50 only has compressed 7k up to 30p, better than nothing, but not the best.
