Really nice cuties.
I wonder how you get close to owls.

I only hear them in the night, nur never saw them in the wild.
I was 50m away - it's amazing what you can do with 800mm on a 32 Mpx APS-C sensor!
Really nice to see that at least you have some sun.
If it would at least have some bog snowflakes… zehn I would make some weather photos
Just for you Maximilian, yesterday we had deep frost in the morning. But, the sun melted it by noon. A Redwing at 500mm on R5.309A9749-DxO_redwing+ice-lssm.jpg309A9762-DxO_redwing+ice_flying+lssm.jpg

I like the Grebe (not because the Heron is not a good photo!): what a cute fishermen! Only the fish is somewhat disappointing ("Grebe + Fish") but who of us will look more happy in such a situation :)?! The bird is definitely happy !

Looking at the series of rings on both talons, is that the same eagle as you took recently?
Thanks Alan for interest. They are not the same eagles. Distance between those two places in 288 miles and photos were also taken in different years. Also the previous eagle was a golden eagle and this latter white-tailed eagle if I get their species names right in english.

I couldn't tell with my limited knowledge of eagles the species in the older shot that was more face on. It's interesting they are both ringed on both legs. Is there a special reason for this?
