Show your Bird Portraits

Thanks Click! It was my only keeper from a visit to a great Wetland Trust reserve today. The Woodpecker was an amusing bonus on returning home late this afternoon.
"only keeper" or not it's a great shot! The Woodpecker is not far behind (just not in par with the colors of the duck but you can't paint the bird just because you need more colorful photo:) .
And yes - there are not water drops there (I agree with Click that the water drops in the Duck's photo are adding to the overall impression)!

A rare visitor to my garden this afternoon, a female Blackcap. I had the RF 800/11 on the R7, a nice combo for a small bird 10m away.

And the light coming from the right direction! Great shot with well controlled highlights! Not for full size photo-print but 10m away for that bird is a lot!

Winter is still here in Canada, just a small number of sturdy birds endure cold. This red-tailed hawk is soaking all the warmth the low sun can deliver.

"This red-tailed hawk is soaking all the warmth the low sun can deliver." And obviously all the attention from the paparazzi going around !
Nice shot ISO64!

Another gloomy/sad day here: I was planing to go somewhere else but broke the plans already in the beginning of the trip - drizzling and overcast and when I check the weather radar on my cellphone it wasn't looking better later. Just stopped at the Honolulu Zoo - time to time one can get some interesting wild-life photos there and you always can hide from the rain somewhere. Only the Laysan Duck is an inventory of the Zoo from these photos.
Back in the time it has been present on the bigger Islands of the Hawaii but has disappeared when the Polynesians arrived. Endemic and endangered.
