<span style="font-weight: normal;">I’ve been told that a 1Ds Mark IV announcement can be expected for the Canon EXPO & Photokina. Availability of the camera could be some time after (2 months?). </span></strong></p>
<p>Canon will make a “big splash” this fall with 3 digital SLR’s and a “revolutionary” PowerShot.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.picturestoryblog.com/2010/08/canon-1ds-mk-iv-is-being-tested.html" target="_self">Steven Alvarez posted</a> that his friend is indeed testing the 1Ds Mark IV.</p>

Naah. Next 1-series will be announced early next year - Digic V, reworked body, etc..

At Photokina we'll have a PowerShot with a slightly larger sensor (10mm diagonal).
Also the 60D and maybe the 5D3.

The revolutionary part in the PowerShot will be the zoom range - Canon just patented a technology for a compact lens with a large zoom factor.

So is the 1DsIV going to have dual-DIGI V with 32 MP?

Let's see... 3 DSLRs... 1DsIV, 60D, and probably 2000D... sounds right.

"Revolutionary" Powershot... maybe a first step toward EVIL or embedding somekind of range finder view?

There will most certainly be an EVIL camera from Canon.

And the almost confirmed 60D.

1Ds4? Perfectly logical.

A revolutionary PowerShot? What would that be? I would highly appreciate a larger sensor. Maybe good old 2/3"?

I could see the 1Ds4 being announced with shipments coming in December.

I could see the 60D announced with shipping in 4 weeks.

As far as the other DSLR: who knows. Probably a low end, stripped-down body with 720p video.

Let me be sceptic here: the “big splash” is pure speculation and good only for marketing. The latest Canon developments are just evolution, useful, but nothing more.

Btw. no video improvement will help to take better higher quality images, so I hope they have priorities in place.

I think I am going to keep expectations low and then be pleasantly surprised if they come out with more than I thought. While it sounds logical that the 1DS would come out, I've been disappointed in the past on this one, so don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Honestly, I won't be buying any of these (unless they maybe come out w/ an s95 or something), but I'm very curious to see what is coming out next.

We'll have to wait and see, but there is a 99% chance I'll buy if there are upgraded features on a full frame body, including HD video.
