I get a little sad to see that the most striking images are those of violence and disasters. But we have to be realistic and admit that our planet has never been a safe place. Perhaps the perception of violence is becoming greater in developed countries. After World War II, many Paisses not seen major conflicts, except for television news. With the globalization of the economic crisis, conflicts are ignoring the boundaries of "peaceful" countries. But there has always been violent conflicts, and photojournalists have a duty to show the reality and facts.
