It's probably a lot longer wait for most. b&h only took pre-orders on 3/14 while Adorama took phone pre-orders since the press release came out. Only found out around January 26th when I pre-ordered there; supposedly around 200 in line 
in contrast, my b&h order is shipping soon at least so i can cancel adorama and bump eeryone up one.

on a more general note -- One can always find a bad example for most any retailer, so YMMV and I'm Sure Adorama has lots of successful sales transactions -- I just find that between B&H and Amazon, I don't need Adorama. Years ago they tried to slip in a grey market lens past me when I ordered a U.S. warranty lens. That put a bad taste in my mouth that has persisted ever since so I just don't bother with them. I do check their prices from time to time, and find that they are always in line with the other two. For me their practice of including rebates in with the displayed pricing is less transparent than the way B&H does business.

Amazon tends to be the slowest. Many who ordered 5D MK III's waited a month longer than Adorama, and B&H buyers waited longer yet.
All of this is Canon's doing, they hold back shipping large quantities if they do not like a vendor selling graymarket, for example.
Stores do not control the availability from the manufacturer.
I did not see you mention what product you ordered, a 1D X is going to be a bit of a wait. You will likely get it first from Adorama, or from a small local camera shop. Canon seems to help small shops out by sending them a camera or two on shorter notice.

Repeat post, but my 1DX shipped from Adorama at some point this evening. I ordered in October when they were only accepting phone requests.
I ended up getting my 5D3 on 5 Apr from Adorama as well in a nice bundle (only $9 more for a small Canon backpack-style bag, a 32GB 90MB/s SD card, and some software I'll never use). I just called them up expecting to pre-order and I happened to grab on the spot and had it at my door the next day. I was quite surprised since so many people seemed to still be waiting on pre-orders.

Actually, I was watching the 5D Mark III very closely. B&H had them in stock and were selling them a few days before Adorama. I don't know why this is. I believe Norman Cameras had them first. 1D X will be completely different.
