Any thing Shot with a 5ds/r

Great images Keith!

I have not used my Zeiss glass much, due to the lack of an S-screen. But today I took the camera, a tripod and the Zeiss lenses for a walk. This is first ever Zeiss image shot with my 5DSR.

I have ordered the Zacuto Z-finder, which will arrive some time next week. Not the ideal solution, but the best I could think of. I am really looking forward to using these lenses more.

The only lens that I have that can take advantage of the 5DS resolution is the 300L 2.8. I have found that by using more strategy(best f stop for resolution) with the other lenses like the 24-105L will produce good results. While hand holding can produce a sharp image with little signs of camera movement, the tripod is now a must when feasible. As always, shoot a burst and pick the best one.(bring plenty of cards)
Even though I bought the 5DS for landscapes, I have tried it for sports. Under strong lighting, it's awesome. If I need to go past ISO 400 to keep the shutter speed high, I'll go to the 5D III.
Writing to even the fastest cards is slow, so not a great choice of bodies if you need to shoot in bursts and review quickly. Patience is a virtue with the 5DS.
One thing I did notice is the choice of auto-focus points/mode seems to be critical. I was shooting some rodeo and getting crappy results until switching to single point. This was most noticeable at f2.8. There might be some interaction with the IS and tracking modes, but this really needs to be a whole separate test.

One more with the 55/1.4 Otus.

1/8s, f4.0, ISO100
Gorgeous detail
I'm getting a 85mm real soon I'm doing my home work now on what I need .

I agree with Eldar Gary, I think the 85 is your Lens considering the lovely Portraits you are doing, I like the 85 around the Streets as well, Now I have both the 55 & 85, I find myself reaching for the 85 more.

I went to Bodie(Gold mining ghost town) this last weekend and used the 5DS for about 95% of the shooting.
All shooting was handheld. This shot is from the ridge east of Bodie using the 24-105L. Despite some atmospherics on the long shot, quite impressive. The screen shot will give you an idea of the resolution. I did do a separate multi-shot pano that I will process in the future.
