Leafs on a cold day.

Cool! The 1st and 3rd stand out more to me.

While I was home visiting the family for Christmas, Dad and I took a trip to the Suwannee River State park. In a tree hollow was a pair of tiny 3" spiderwebs covered in raindrops. Barely could get the lens inside the hollow and illumination from the 580 flash was primarily reflected light.

It's cold, white and barren where I live so I've got slews of pictures of leaves in the snow. The third picture is a poinsettia leaf I've dolled up a bit with a brocaded texture.

Curious, has anyone attempted to use this lens for sports?
Care to share your attempts?
Yes, I did.
Sorry, but I don't have any samples right now. There were two occasions. One was youth ice hockey outdoor training (artificial light) and I was not very impressed (however I'm not blaming the lens because I'm totally inexperienced in this kind of shooting). The second try was outdoor medieval fair tournament (does it count as a sport? :D )and results were better (lens focused quicker).

Butterfly.
Canon 7D, f14, 1/250, with MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite held over head, ISO 400, EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, with extension tube. Handheld with just one hand as other hand was holding flash head.
Really nice. :)
And I can imagine, how you had to perform contortions doing this handheld. ;)
congrats.
