It's that time of year again!! Shot just an hour ago with my 17-40mm f4 L. I used a monopod and shot it at f7.1 1/8 @ 17mm.

great, make me feel even worse that i never got into SiChuan (or YunNan?).
oh well, whenever i make it to southern China i'll be bringing a lot of gear in the hope of getting some shots even half as good as that...

Since I started using the 5D MkII, I don't use the 17-40 quite as much as I used to, as I'm restricted with filter use, but it's quite good for exaggerated perspectives. A nicer foreground would have been better, but it got the effect I was looking for. The rocks were almost directly below my feet.
