Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM + 2x Extender (II or III)

A few shots from lunchtime on Friday. I noticed this chap in the garden pond.

BTW, must clean the sensor.

Finally got chance to play a bit more with the 300 f/2.8 ii and the 2xTCiii (I've actually bee spending too much time with my real job). I was really hoping to get the recent Super Moon but we had amazing storms and clouds obscuring the view. Finally, the sky cleared after a couple of nights and I shot this. I was so excited that I forgot my remote and used the 10 second delay, instead. Some uprez, cropping and convert to B&W with Nik and here it is. Maybe not the best but I've got about zero experience with any astro-photography so I am pleased.

One of my first attempts with this combo, I was on the fence with the 2x 111 or 1.4 X 111
Pleasantly surprised
Very nice photo!

Thanks candyman
She would be a shoe in for one of today's reality shows

I had a very tame osprey this morning - I was able to get within about 30 feet in my mobile blind - aka car :):

I had my first outing with the 300/28 II + 2XTCIII this afternoon since coming back from Canada on Tuesday where I was using the Tamron 150-600mm. The Canon feels a bit heavier! Here are two mugshots of an Egyptian goose. Why can't I see those fantastic bee eaters or have a bird of prey come and sit next to me?
