The original LP-E4 battery of the 1D Mark IV is again not receiving power from the charger or sending power to the camera.

I suspect the contacts of the battery is dirty/corroded.

This has happened before to the same battery but it started working again months after I bought a replacement.

Any tips of cleaning it? Would a used toothbrush do?

Something you need to be careful about is not rubbing too hard or too much and removing the protective coating that is preventing corrosion or oxidation. I've done that before with an eraser is it was too abrasive. You can probably try some cleaner/protectant that would clean and also leave a bit of residue that enhances conductivity.

I've used stuff like this (link below) in the past with good results. Don't get too messy/liberal with application. There are several variations of containers and application methods. Good luck and let us know how it goes!!
