ef 400mm 2.8 II with Wimberly gimbal and RRS foot?

Trying to nail down an answer, as Wimberly and RRS seem to shy off from saying that the RRS replacement foot for the ef 400mm 2.8 IS II definitely works directly with the Wimberly Tripod Head II.

I don't see why they wouldn't...

IIRC, the same RRS foot goes with the 400/500/600 II, and I've put my 600 II with LCF-53 on a Wimberley II.

I suppose RRS wants you to buy their gimbal and Wimberley wants you to buy their plate...
