Hi,

I installed the Rob Cole's plugin for lightroom today (thanks to Marsu42). While checking the AF information in the metadata, I noticed that for AF expansion mode, the AF focus points were mentioned as numbers. For instance, one of my shot's AF metadata read - "AF Points Selected: 19, 29, 30, 35 and 41".

My question is, what is the numbering sequence for the AF points.

Cheers ... J.R.

You could take a series of shots, manually selecting each AF point and looking at the EXIF, and then tell us... ;)

Not sure if it's the same, but FoCal numbers them from the right side of the lowest row (in true programmer fashion, counting starts at zero) and rastering upwards - see the parenthetical numbers below (and note that these are for the 1D X, but I'm sure the 5DIII is the same). It seems likely that your plugin is using the same scheme - not sure what your selected points were, but the points you mention (19, 29, 30, 35 and 41) are the five points in a '+' configuration in the center (i.e. center point with 4-point expansion).
