There are over 100 million EOS bodies and over 140 million EF lenses

This comes out as for every 1 EOS body there are 1.4 1st party lenses. Assuming 3rd party are 0.6 then it comes out as 1 body per 2 lenses on average.

I would hazard a guess that about 80% of EOS body buyers buy the kits with 1 lens and the odds of adding a 2nd lens is low. Camera kit buyers are not solely Rebel kit owners but also those who buy 6-Series and 5-Series cameras with a 24-105L zoom or other lens.

EF
11-24f/4L
24-70 f/2.8L II
70-200 f/2.8L IS II
100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II
100 f/2.8L IS Macro
600 f/4L IS II

RF
70-200 f/2.8L IS
100-500 f/4.5-7.1L IS

Waiting for the RF 600 f/4L IS and hopefully a new ~100mm f/2.8 Macro

Possibly not the typical buyer...

What do you use more? The R5 or 1DX3?

I used the 1DX MK III from the moment I received it in May until 31JUL when I received the R5. Since then it has been used once, though I keep swapping the battery out and charging it each month in the event I need it. While the III is a great camera, between the eye AF, extra 25MP, and the truly silent shutter the R5 gets used by default. I'm currently around 120K actuations on the R5 while the III is sitting around 40-50K.

All that said, unless the R 1 series comes with some insanely low MP, it is on my list to preorder given how the R5 has worked. And I'll probably do the R5S, primarily for landscape and macro. Of course until final specs come out, nothing is set in stone.

I own the RF 24-105. Everything else is EF. If I buy an R5, I will probably get the 100-500, but for everthing else, I'm perfectly content with EF lenses until RF lenses come down in price. I own a lot of EF lenses, but honestly, the only ones I use are the 24-105, 70-200, 100-400 and the fisheye zoom.

Canon:

EF-S 18-55mm IS II
EF 50 mm 1.8 II
EF 85 mm 1.8 USM
EF-S 55-250 IS STM

Used to own the EF-S 10-18 mm before it rolled off a mountain cliff.

Third party:

Sigma 50 mm 2.8 Macro
Sigma 35 mm 1.4 Art
Sigma 150-600 mm 5.0-6.3 OS Contemporary
Samyang 16 mm 2.0

I don't think asking for EF lenses excludes third party, as it is the name of the mount. So I voted 8 above.

Started on the 600D (T3i) and currently using the 80D.

I think this oversimplifies things. E.g. I bought a 450D and an EF 70-200mm f/4L IS (mkI), and resold both. My bet is the 70-200mm is still in use, but the 450D is not.
