What color backdrop should I use? Should I use a mostly white or mostly black backdrop. I am also dealing with black people mainly.

Not sure I understand you question, but a neutral gray backdrop works well with most everything and doesn't give you so much contrast. With that being said, you can turn almost any color backdrop white or black depending on how you use your lighting.
