Hi, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I do a lot of hiking and carry with me my t2I along with a 100-400, 24-70, and 100mm macro. All cannon lenses. I was wondering what the best belt or harness would be best for carrying the different lenses. I have a slingback but that doesn't really allow for quick changes. The 100-400 came with a nice belt case but I don't have anything for the other lenses. If I went with a lowe pro utility type belt would my canon case that I do have work with that or would I need the belt with 3 or 4 new cases to attach to it? Id appreciate any help!

The belt loop on the Canon cases isn't very convenient. I use a Lowepro Deluxe Technical Belt, which is great. I generally have a Lowepro Lens Exchange 200 AW (which holds the 100-400) and one other case (for the 100L and 24-70, old Lowepro designation Lens Case 2S would be perfect, not sure what the new equivalent would be).

Hi, thank you for your help. So, right now I'm leaning towards the Lowepro Deluxe Technical belt, Lowepro S& F Technical Harness, Lowepro Lens Exchange 200AW, and from ebay the Lowepro Lens Case 9 x 13 cm 2S SlipLock™ 55-200mm f/4.

How does this all sound for my 100-400, 24-70, and 100mm macro?

I guess I have 1 more question. What do you attach your camera to while walking around with your 100-400? Is there an attachment for this setup designed for the camera plus extra long lens?

I carry the camera on a Blackrapid strap (RS-4). With a regular lens it's attached to the body, with a large lens (28-300, 70-200/2.8 IS II, 100-400) it's attached to the tripod collar.

I hope I'm not being a pest, but I've come across another question. My shopping list is growing as I've just added the Black Rapid RS7 camera strap. While reading about that I noticed people talking about the "Fasten RT1 for Quick Release Plate". Do you use one of these? I usually keep an RC2 Mounting Plate attached to my camera, now I'm wondering if the ring on that is going to be strong enough. Thoughts?

Do NOT use the D-ring on the Manfrotto RC2 plate to hold your camera. I took one apart a while back, it's structurally inadequate. The FastenR-T1 works well - I had 4 of them when I used RC2 plates (I subsequently switched to Arca-Swiss plates, still use Manfrotto supports, though - 190CXPRO4 legs with 468MG head, 694CX monopod with 234 head, both with Wimberley C-12 clamps).

Good to know! I'll add the Fasten RT1 to my cart! I'm currently using a Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod w/ a Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head. I like the set up, but even with the macro rail it's hard getting the tripod just right for macro work. I recently bought a ring mount for my macro lens, but have yet to try it.
