I'm mostly doing events, models and soon I will be shooting more weddings. I like wildlife and was thinking of the 100-400, but some people are saying the 70-200 2.8 II with 2X is just as good or at least close enough. I want to sell my EF-S glass and maybe get the 16-35 and the 2x TC. Would you look at getting anything else?

If you are doing events especially weddings, its good to have two bodies. 70-200 with 2x should be ok until you need longer than 400 then you can look at one of the super telephotos.

17-55 f2.8 has superb image quality and you can get the 16-35 if you want to go wider.

Also, do you have speedlite(s)?

Cheers

I was looking at a 400 or a 100-400, but is it not damn near as good to use a TC on the 70-200 2.8 MkII? Less lenses to carry. I already have too many to lug around now :)

I was thinking of selling my EF-S lenses and my T41 to get a 6D and a 16-35, or maybe getting a new 7D when it drops. The T4i is a pretty capable second body though. Not a pro body, but far from a bad camera to use for a second body. I may just need to stay with what I have and stop going nuts for gear. LOL

I even thought of grabbing a 50 because I only have 50mm covered in zooms. My only primes are the 85 1.8, 100 M L macro and the 35L. I can get by with the 24-70 when I need to for portraits, but I find my 100L and my 35L are sharper. Not that the 24-70 II is not amazing, just that I like primes for portraits. I almost considered the 85 1.2, but can't justify the jump from the 85 1.8.

Damn you Canon...LOL
