This isn't an L lens but it does a good job and on this camera makes for a small package. These were shot with a Canon RP, low light, high ISO and puppies that wouldn't stay still.
I love the colors in your pic. Absolutely beautifulThe RF 35mm f1.8 is a wonderful lens. When I was all EF, I used the 40mm STM lens as a walk around/travel lens and appreciated it as well.
This one gives another welcome 5mm of coverage, a stop+ of light and all that stabilization. Bigger, but ideally suited for an R5.

Great photos! I like the lightbeams from the lighthouse. The 35mm can take night pics as wellThe Borkum lighthouse. Taken January 2025. I also posted some pics of the same lighthouse taken with 85mm F2 in the according thread.

Comparing a 500 $ to a 2.500 $ lens doesn't make sense, even for wishful thinking. Of course, there has to be a sizeable gap in performance.I love the 35mm focal length but I find myself wishing it was sharper and more comparable to my 50 1.2.
Well, now you have the 35mm F1.4I know the 35mm isn't an L lens but it's disappointing considering that it's the only RF option for a prime 35mm.
Some are still hoping for a f1.2 unicornHopefully these rumors of an RF 35mm L series will come true!
