And these from today: very dry trail along most of it's (actually narrow asphalt road going to the highest point of the Waianae Mt. With car only with permission but you can walk it - it goes to preserved area). My daughter choose it for the exercise. I was expecting Red-billed Leiothrix and got it (plus many commons). What I missed was something that goes usually around water - couple of Red Avadavat! They are tiny, beautiful, relatively rare here birds and I noticed the male (red head what I saw) to ID. TTL I saw the female and tried to get closer (from ~10-15 meters you have no chance for decent photo of such a bird) and they flush... Anyway - I have them feeding in the grass at proper habitat (photos before the COVID started:)) but if I succeeded to take photos today would be nice (actually it would make my trip!!!).
So, just a Red-billed Leiothrix (also beautiful but by far not as rare bird here)

All. Long time since I've been out and about (long story not for here) and I am re-learning. Recent trip to Northern New Mexico and captured this guy. Was near sunrise so fairly dark. Hand held 500mm. My question for this group......Cassin's Kingbird versus Western Kingbird vs other? I think the blue coloration is exaggerated due to the low-light. Have missed your knowledge and artistry. Thanks.New Mexico May 2023-260-Edit-Edit.jpg

It looks like a Cassin's Kingbird to me. Lovely shot, JPAZ.
