Today: very hot, I was surprised how up on the trail I was able to get (I'm almost 70)! The only interesting bird was, as I found on the screen of my monitor was just an Yellow-fronted canary:ROFLMAO:! What was puzzling was the deep lack of connection of the left and right yellow superciliums above the bill. They are always connected in this species except when that area is wet from nectar (see the first photo but even in that one you will see some yellow feathers between the bill base and the eye!). In my case there were not such a feathers - the yellow starts right above the eye! After that just succession from baby to adult. In the last photo you see one feeding on the flowers of Rainbow Eucalyptus. Some Eucalyptus specie here have ~ few times bigger nectar "cups" that could be the reason for the wet area above the bill.

After that - illustration of the today's conditions: if it was shorter distance, if it was not that uplifting hot air and off-course if I was better photog it could be nice succession of Japanese white-eye taking off:)DSC_6435_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_8497_DxO_DxO.jpgSerinus mozambicus - Yellow-fronted Canary 38_DxO.jpgDSC_0373_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_0982_DxO_DxO.jpgSerinus mozambicus - Yellow-fronted Canary 19_DxO.jpgDSC_8377_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_5560_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_5562_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_5563_DxO_DxO.jpg
