Your photos bring back some great memories. Four years ago, we visited Audubon Corkscrew Swamp where we saw our first and never since Painted Bunting. I took this with the 5DSR and EF 100-400mm II, my then standard travel kit. The RF 100-400mm on a high resolution Canon (R5 or R7 or other APS-C) would be just as good today. Thanks for posting!Painted Bunting. Celery Fields Audubon Center, Sarasota, FL.

I love both the first and third for the sense of environment, but the second one is perfect to show the the colors, isn't it? WONDERFUL series!Painted Bunting. Celery Fields Audubon Center, Sarasota, FL.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker visits my garden but is extremely skittish and usually flies away immediately he catches site of me. This time, he didn't see me sitting down with my camera raised - that 200-800 is big enough to cover my face - and flew into the back of an apple tree. Not a completely clear shot but a rare chance. I took about 50 shots. All were in good focus but only two had his face not badly obscured. Then, he went to my feeder for peanuts.
Actually "good 10 minutes". The rest of the walk was just looking around for something worth to shoot...A good days work.
Beautiful birds posing nicely!Eastern Spinebill
