I went out looking for eagles. I saw 5 or 6 but no good shots so I settled on these. Colors are a bit strange because there was a red boathouse reflecting in the water.
I agree. I moved it to the edge of the frame.I really like the second one. The details of the bird look amazing. Maybe just a little more space on the right and not so much on the left would have been a bit nicer because it looks that way.
Click says "I especially like the 3rd one". Me too!!!great crested grebe

Nice! I have no idea where you are taking these photos but combination of Cassin's Kingbird and Casaurina sp. (Australian Iron wood or Australian Pine - that is not Conifer at all...) is telling me Southern California (probably coastal)?A pair of Cassin's Kingbirds this Thanksgiving morning. Canon R5 and RF200-800mm.
Some morning wing stretching: Enjoy.

Colors are OK - even for the female (Hooded Merganser). Great pose for the male! I never got them with the "hood" displayed!I went out looking for eagles. In this particular case I don't know which first do you like: the Merganser or the Sparrow?Beautiful shots, ISv. I really like the first one.![]()
WOW!!! That's a big upset: House Sparrow over a MerganserLOL The second first one.
The Sparrow![]()
It's also fun to photograph the chaffinch (female) when it's sitting on the ground cover instead of on a branch.
Well spotted ISv! SoCal is correct (inland coastal). The Casaurina sp. (locally called a Sheoak) is in my neighbor's yard. The woodpeckers and nuthatches like working the trunk and branches for insects. Flycatchers and hummers like the snags for looking for flying insects.Nice! Upside down shot says he has been watching too many geckos. It was just an Yellow-faced canary today.

Checking for seeds from every direction... geckos have nothing to do with this. These actually are not the most acrobatic birds around: you should see what the White-eyes are doing regularly when searching for insects!Upside down shot says he has been watching too many geckos.![]()
