Two weeks and one day since my knee op. The staples were removed yesterday. Celebrated today with my first walk, eschewing the crutches for hiking poles, with the R5ii + RF 100-400mm over my shoulder. Then, to my delight a Kestrel appeared so I threw down the poles and rushed towards it. Knee is somewhat sore but worth it. Would have done better with the 200-800 but too heavy at present.

Today: overcast and hazy (the last as a result from the Kilauea eruption...) and hot! These are from my favorite spot for bathing birds - short walk: very soon I needed shower too!
