Show your Bird Portraits

As I recently wrote there is nothing exciting (nothing "first") in the last several months, today I got this one! First photos of leucistic House sparrow (I never expected to write "exciting" in connection with House sparrowo_O but here we go! ). Unfortunately my computer doesn't want to turn "ON" and I just cropped on the 10-years old laptop of my wife since she is using hers new one right now and for long (well, I just can't wait to show up with this one :p). I don't know how actually my photos look!!! No DxO PL... This is even not the crop that I intended - just cropped until it fit the size for CR!DSC_0938.jpg

Thanks Click! It was kind of "Veni, vidi, vici": Friday on eBird someone reported leucistic House sparrow on +/- nearby shopping center. Yesterday I was busy and couldn't go there. Today in ~5 minutes I saw it - it's pretty big and populous shopping center and I was prepared for much longer search. Also for a lot of honking - I had to roam in the parking lots chasing the bird (no honking - all smiles, still can't believe it!!!). All together ~20 min. After that (it was really difficult: I wanted to see the photos on big screen!!!), vent to check on the "commons", took just one burst of photos of Yellow-faced Canary and run home (now I don't even want to post that photos - you have full mouth of that bird!).
And all of this for a House sparrow :rolleyes:!

Great shot of a real rarity. When you get close enough in reasonable light with good gear like yours, it needs no DxO PL etc

Nice pictures. I really like the water droplets on the second one.
Yes there is a bird in the birdbath (to the left) cleaning up and spreading water everywhere.

I read much of what gets posted on CR...and love doing so. CR is a wonderful resource.

The R5II is a superb camera. And I need every pixel that it offers (and would like more!).

I look forward to seeing what Canon does next.

I like all of them - including that Sparrow! Was it on the boat?! The first two are kind of so peaceful and I like it but the Sparrow is kind of out of place, lost and it looks like interesting story...

Be careful! Read the reviews on B&H - especially these with one star:LOL::ROFLMAO:!!!. My favorite is (I think it was #2): "Err70 -Junk Camera Like the R5"!
You always can expect negative reviews on the Internet but what flatten me were all these(y):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ! It looks like so many Sony fanboys were disappointed it is not a Sony camera!
Judging from what I have seen around here - enjoy your new camera and once you get familiar with it you will like it even more!
