Show your Bird Portraits

The Shining Sunbeam is a hummingbird found at high altitudes in the Andes from Colombia to Peru. It does not have the colorful gorget feathers common to most hummingbirds. Instead, its lower back is covered with iridescent lilac-gold feathers shading to shining silver-green on the uppertail-coverts. They are fiercely defensive of nectar sources and can be quite a pain at feeders, chasing away other hummingbird species. This adult was seen while birding at Hacienda el Bosque, Colombia, November, 2025.

Thank you! Huge pile of stones just fall from my shoulders :)!
Few from today: illustration of what happens when the birds are so eager to get their photos on CR ! I swear I made several times steps back but the Turnstones just follow me (this is in park...). The last two are when I got home - to add some color. Overcast day.

Nice! Such variety where you're at! And how often do the birds chase us? 😆

What "variety"? I'm absolutely sure you have more of different species at your place! My problem is to search for interesting poses/backgrounds for the same common birds... In the parks around the birds are really customized to humans and don't care where are you - time to time it's a problem (especially when you are using a prime lens!). The story is different when you go on a real trail in the wilderness (I had no opportunity today): then the tactics and approaches are very different!
