An old one from years ago that came to my mind because of a remark in the BIF thread.
Old equipment back then:
5D2, 100-400L, @400mm, 1/1000, f/5.6, ISO400
Nice and splashy! Green eyes are a sign of a mature male bird. Immature ones have dull grayish-bluish eyes.An old one from years ago that came to my mind because of a remark in the BIF thread.

The world didn't change that much - we changed in our perception of the world! The world has changed since
For you Alan:
Great shots!
January non-Canon photo dump
Aw man, too bad about AF, the second one could have been really nice! I always get excited when I see one of those little guys, there is one across the street from where I work, but I have not yet managed to get close enough for a decent shot, let alone eye level like these ones.Still overcast, still no sun. I'm starting to get a winter depression
First decent photos for a while, bad light, AF is doing anything but not what I want.
But I wanted to post them because I like the nuthatch with the moss.
Use your imagination and think about sharp eyes

Looks like a coot or moorhen chick. If I had to guess, I'd say moorhen.Nice pictures, Nemorino. What is that bird?
Can't say anything different from what Alan and Click did...Great shots!
