American Robin stretching its wings a bit

To my ears, the American Robins in our region of the Midwest United States seem to be much, much noisier in the spring-time...making a wide variety of sounds etc...as opposed to summer-time, where they are rather quiet (and numerous!)

As stated elsewhere on CR, what I most enjoy about photography in general (and telephoto as well as macro photography in particular) is how selected images enable awareness of our world's details that are otherwise unavailable to my senses.

[As an aside, I always look to identify (and generate occasionally) images that aim to faithfully reproduce reality (whatever that is)...which is why some of the more spectacular astrophotography images aren't my favorite...where does all of that color come from?!]

The male Brown-Headed Cowbird, to the naked eye, is a rather boring looking bird. Especially in poor light, it looks like what I would call a 'blackbird'.

But good light and decent Canon gear yields this:

Quite a handsome guy...but the reproductive habits (brood parasitism) of Cowbirds are...ingenious?!

There's an easy snarky comment to make here but in this case maybe discretion is warranted;)

Looks like a Golden Crowned Kinglet.
I think you miss Alan's replay - Firecrest. And he is right.
Nemorino is located in Europe and the Golden Crowned Kinglet in North America. Very similar birds indeed and in many cases considered the same species!
