And just my opinion: nowadays "This is at f/11 to get more DOF. R7, ISO 6400, 1/800 s." - the info about camera x lens and the settings is not enough (and I'm more than sure everyone here will know what I mean).

Very consistent - two years in row (end to beginning)!
I hardly can remember taking photos of the same bird about the same time in Europe! On Oahu it's very easy - you have no choice: another day, another bunch of the same birds

Of course there were other birds as well.
Some woodpeckers refused to stay in sight.
And none of them tempted me to take a picture.
Blue and big tits I did photograph already too much, so it must be a special situation.
But somehow I fell in love with those treecreepers. So here I couldn't resist.

And BTW I hope you went out voluntarily - no body chased you out of the door!

It was me who chased myself out of the door - for health, fresh air and some cardio

The flicker shots are awesome. Those guys usually blend in so well that it is hard to get good detail.

Nice photos and your description of the spirit of the bird ("sassy" ) is right on spot!
On the negative part of "sassy" (and it may be the only negative that I see there!) I would include their vocalization: there is no bird as annoying (especially very early morning when you need at least few more minutes of sleep)! Very (if not extremely!) bad singers!

I found a video because I wanted to hear. I'm not sure what makes them bad singers, but the song seemed like it doesn't take a break. I can imagine if it's close to the window it would be impossible to enjoy fresh air.

By the way, anyone know what the evolutionary advantage of the red head could be?

I suggest you lookup "Bird vision" on Wikipedia. Most birds see the world in four colors, red, green, blue, and ultraviolet (RGBUV). Humans/primates and old-world monkeys share the RGB color system. Most other mammals only see two colors (hint no red). So, if the head reflects an equal amount of red and UV then birds may see "ultra-purple" as a distinct color like we see red and blue as purple. We only see the head as red. How cool is that?
