Concerning the last two photos - It's not a juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron!
It's by far more interesting to me because I haven't seen them: it's a juvenile Yellow-Crowned Night heron! It means you took these photos somewhere in Texas or Florida (if they are taken recently - winter time). Check on the shorter neck, shorter tail and proportionally so big (and kind of elongated) head!
