Walking around Robinson Preserve near Bradenton, FL

We watched White Pelecan's coming in to land.

Then spotted what I think is a juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron

I agree with Click about #1 photo! The best as a photo!
Concerning the last two photos - It's not a juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron!
It's by far more interesting to me because I haven't seen them: it's a juvenile Yellow-Crowned Night heron! It means you took these photos somewhere in Texas or Florida (if they are taken recently - winter time). Check on the shorter neck, shorter tail and proportionally so big (and kind of elongated) head!

Took this when back (and wet) at home! Spotted Dove... I will try again tomorrow!

Just compare the distribution maps of the Black-Crowned and the Yellow-Crowned! How many of us can post photos of the last one?!

A common Mourning Dove that was watching me for the longest time hiking up to a peak this morning.
I thought it was so cute, just watching me huff and puff up the hill until I got too close.

The water levels here are the highest I have ever seen. An Egyptian Goose by a tree stump that is normally high above the water.

Blue Heron shot at the Fred C. Babcock Wildlife Management Area in Florida. If ever you are in the Punta Gorda area (about 40 minutes from Cape Coral) you can spend a day there and only cover about 10% of the preserve. 4 wheel drive is required to find hidden gems, just look for water.
