Spiders

I didn't see a general arachnids thread, so I'm posting this here.
I was lucky enough to wake up and see a baby scorpion before I even got up from the floor one morning.
Unfortunately I could only take four not good photos with my phone before it moved under some holiday decorations kept in the room I was staying in. So no chance to grab the R5. 1000051658.jpg1000051659.jpg1000051660.jpg1000051661.jpg

The last photo was with a fan on the floor to help show how small it was. Although the photos are quite bad, I think the give a sense of the scorpion's swinging movement and how fast it moved across the floor.

I like the story! On other hand, judging by some of your comments about certain insects I would expect to see you flying like a song bird close to the ceiling and vocalizing off course:)

Haha I'm caught now, I've been a drama queen exaggerating about the insects this whole time.

I had been studying Buddhism at a forest temple in Northern Thailand, sleeping on the floor. I'm not sure how many people can adjust to those living conditions for example the water is collected from the ground - not a well - and it's almost always brown. Eating only one meal a day and six or more hours of meditation. I was allowed three sets of clothes, but monks only use one.
The setting was atop a mountain so I felt lucky to have good air and wonder views everyday. Unfortunately, prayer and meditation times made blue hour and golden hour impossible for me. Still it's an amazing experience for anyone willing to learn to do with less

I know - you already told us that you actually don't afraid that much from insects:)...
Looking at your #4 photo I'm scratching my head about what do you mean "on the floor" - it looks much more comfortable than many guys are experiencing on some hikes (including me - when I was 40-50 years younger:(). Any way I like your sense of humor and the will to explore something new! Keep posting!!!

This is true, a wooden floor is more comfortable than many places one have might have to sleep while hiking. I'm thinking more about such people who would decide to leave a hotel because the large bed isn't soft enough.

Thank you for your kind words. It's a mutual feeling.
