The Next Canon PowerShot is Coming This Year

Would love to see an APS-C zoom like the G1x III. If they had the guts to make a bright prime that would be even cooler. But a zoom isn’t so bad either. Hope the sensor can read out fast enough and that it carries the water resistance and EVF of the G1X III. In fact, if they can update the battery, sensor, and processor, I’m sure it would find an audience. Also I would request the automatic lens cap like the G7X III, a cap for a compact point and shoot feels weird and I don’t use the filter ring except for NDs and a compact should have built-in NDs. If they could stretch the aperture to f/2.5 or f/2.2 on the short end that would be very cool too.

I don't want APS-C. That just means another $1500+ camera with a slow zoom lens. What i want is a G16 or Ixus sized camera with modern tech and sensor and a good quality 24-100 or 24-200mm lens.
