Things to Do while waiting for your new 5DmIII

As a public service to those who are constantly refreshing CanonRumors.com and other photo sites while waiting for your new 5DmIII to arrive, here is a list of things to do to stay productive....

1) Clean-up LR folders by removing old shots you'll never use.
2) Work on your Photography website.
3) Visit friends and family; annoy them by turning conversation into one about your new expensive camera.
4) Attempt to get anything done at your office.
5) Watch the Weather Channel for hours.

6) Log onto CR Forums and bash the some of the 5DIII's features, or repeat the bashing put forth by others, and issue hollow threads to buy a D800... :

7) Medically induced coma.

8) Run through all of the menu options that you have either turned on or off on your 5D2 and envision if you might do the same on the new 5D3 after reading through the 5D3 manual 2 or 3 times.

9)Talk to your wife for 5 minutes to show that you are "really interested" in her day

10) : save up money, so you may actually be able to buy it in a year or two.

I'm getting clear of all my earlier cam's footage and stills because I don't think I'm going to want to develop/edit any of it when I see what the 5D3 can do.

1. Reading the 5D III manual and clean my lenses. Just to get ready - we will go Big Bear Moutain in California to test out 5D III.

PS...I told my wife that I bought a camera but didn't tell the model(which she doesn't care)

as always she asked "how much?"

I told her half of $3500 : Also, I told her I'm going to sell my 60D and use that money to pay for half of the half :

The wife approved ;D ;D ;D

NOW...I have to use my $1750 from my bonus bank to pay for other half

11.) Sell. Sell anything and everything not bolted down and that does not take a picture. I'm listing my older 7D and 60D bodies on CL along with a 200 f2.8L lens... and camera bags. Got too many of those darn bags that only take up room in the vault. ??? ;D

The 5D3 is a nice camera, but while I wait for mine to arrive I plan to spend my time taking pictures with the cameras I have.

Your 7D and 60D bodies don't take pictures? What do you expect to get for them when you sell them?

Buy new faster more expensive sd and cf cards
Buy new blackrapid strap that can handle two cameras (5Dmk2 and 3)
Buy new acra bracket for III
By new Kirk quick clamp for III and BR strap
Dust of lensalign stuff for all the new calibrations you have to do.
Re-affirm you really can afford this new camera and the extra stuff
Check credit card for B&H charge
Check B&H pre-order status
Call local shops to see if the camera is local
Read about B&H pre-order cancellation policies
There is no end of stuff to do while waiting

Haha dont forget (for the D800) sell or throw away all memory cards smaller than 4GB, max out ram for computer, pray 24/7 that the current nikon lens lineup can handle the new sensor.
