If Canon take too long to announce 7D Mark II, people will buy 70D. I'm just warning you
The logic of Canon was always launch top models before, and profit greatly from buyers who do not want to wait. In the case of the 70D, the logic is reversed, and some may buy the model theoretically lower because there is no sure 7D mark II is so good it's worth the wait.vlim said:If Canon take too long to announce 7D Mark II, people will buy 70D. Yes and that's the business strategy... and since the 7D Mark II will be much more expensive than the 70D it might no be the same kind of photographers who will buy it.

Anything can happen, of course, but since the 4th quarter is the end of the Canon Fiscal year, they do not want to hurt sales of existing models by announcing replacements. Typically, Canon has blow out sales to clear inventory in the 4th quarter and boost the FY bottom line.
Announcements in the 3rd quarter are much more common.

I was thinking about some Sony that have translucent mirrors. Are they faster than 70D? but again different technology though
