Which lenses to take on

I’m relatively new to photography and currently have a Canon Rebel 17. We’ll be doing lots of hikes so definitely will need my telephoto lens but also in the streets of Lake Como and Venice as well. Would love any suggestions on what 2 of my 3 lenses to take. I currently have the 50mm, 18-55mm, and 55-250mm - stuck between the 50 and 18-55. Thanks in advance!

I would take all three of them. If you really want to take only two lenses with you, I would take the 18-55 and the 55-250 for hiking/landscapes as well as photos in the city.

Not sure if it’s in-budget, but personally I find an ultrawide angle zoom to be very useful in most European cities. There are many landmarks that are in close proximity to other buildings with little space around them, so you cannot just back up to get a wider view. For your APS-C DSLR, a lens like the EF-S 10-18mm would be worth a look.

Here’s an example from Venice, Santa Maria Formosa – the church whose bell tower was 'destroyed' in Spider Man: Far From Home. Shot on FF at 14mm (equivalent to 9mm on APS-C).
