I received some badly translated information about an upcoming camera announcement. I don't know what model this would be.
Specs
– Articulating screen
– Metal body, but smaller than 50D
– Upgraded 15.1mp APS-C Sensor
– 720p Video at 30fps
– Electronic Level
– New battery & battery grip
Sounds like a new Rebel with a little more build quality. Maybe a 60D?

I think that a smaller format of DSLR will be interesting, like the sensor to be PSG G10 size or bigger(whatever Canon see fits), can use EF and EFS lenses will be great, so we can have super long tele. For me G10 performance is well more than great, as technology evolves, it will get better.

D700/D3/D3s are absolutely perfect cameras.
I’m surprised by the fact that Canon does not see this market.
I own some Canon gear, got used to its ergonomics and design and would love to see a D700s killer with 10-12mp sensor. But this is not gonna happen.
