There may be a lens launch for the T1/2000D in June.

Following Nikon and Sigma's lead, Canon could be ready to launch a replacement of their 35 f/2 and 50 f/1.4 lenses.

It was suggested there's a possibility the 35 may be an EF-S mount.

The 35L replacement will be coming with a pro body.

  1. If it is good then definitely keep it. But if it front / back – focuses then return it (you know how to test it, right?). I tried a couple in a shop and they didn’t work.

  2. These are old and outdated lenses. The 35mm f/2 is optically OK but has an ancient AF motor with 5-bladed diaphragm, while the 28mm f/1.8 is pretty soft wide open with soft edges throughout. Both are overpriced for what they offer.
