When?
There is still no solid information in regards to when we can expect an announcement. I get random emails saying October or February. It's all guesses at the moment.

What?
A regular source of information says the new 1D will introduce the DIGIC V processor. This processor will not only be faster, but it will also be geared to video recording. The faster processors will allow for RAW video to be shot.

The source had no spec information outside of that.

Lenses
Nothing of note coming in about lenses. Other than wishful thinking.

  1. From the original post: “The faster processors will allow for RAW video to be shot.”

I thought the rumours suggested that the Digic 5 processor would allow for better video to be recorded (including proper binning rather than line-skipping) but I didn’t realise that RAW video was rumoured. Is RAW video really part of the rumoured specs?

  2. that rumor has been showing up lately,
I ghink that the 1D series has to do something
different than 5D2 & 7D for video, something pros will love and can’t be without, RAW, time code, XLR
    audio in, faster readout(no jello)

  3. the canonrumors guy keep on posting anything he receives without any filtering out in orde to increase the site’s popularity. and my post regarding falsehood of this news posted yestwr has been removed, WAKE UP guys, there wont be any 1D’s until next year.

  4. I don’t believe that the EOS1 will in any way impact 7D sales. Two totally different markets, Adam. The rumored 12 FPS at 14 bits for the straight 1 and 32mpixel size of the “s”, using new processor plus the addition of solid video are aimed squarely at pushing the EOS1 well past its Nikon competitor and creating a genuine gap between itself and the 5D mkII.
